While I was sleeping
A couple of days ago the weather here changed, the clear blue skies of almost every day since I arrived replaced by cloudy ones, with strong winds and occasional bouts of rain.
At about the same time I woke one morning feeling decidedly shaky. For three days since all I’ve done is move between loo and bed, and too often. I think it must have been something I ate.
But at last, on day three and after a night of weird dreams and the sweats, it seems that whatever was responsible for the bubbling cauldron in my gut has vacated. And, right on time, this morning there are fewer clouds and patches of blue returning.
While I was sleeping, tossing and turning through my night of strange dreams, back home Josie was out walking through the night. She’s the pink shorted little wonder in the picture above, stood with some of her colleagues and friends.
She was walking to raise money for Cancer Research UK, as she did in June 2021 with her partner, Lauren, although then they covered over 100 miles along the Jurassic Coast. They raised nearly £7,000 (with Gift Aid added), in memory of Pip, Josie’s mum, and, Glyn, Lauren’s dad, who both died from brain tumours.
Last night’s walk was less of a challenge but an incredible achievement nonetheless, a 13 mile nighttime walk around London. Josie raised roughly £150 for every hour she walked, a total of £842.50 (with Gift Aid added), and there may be more to come.
If anyone would like to nudge things up towards or beyond the £1k mark, it’s easily done via the link below:

And now I’m going out for the first time in three days with fingers crossed.
