Jo Stone
That’s Jo Stone above, my mother in law, dancing in our house. My late wife’s mum. She died this morning, Tuesday, aged 91.
I don’t believe in the afterlife, only that we live on in the memories of the people we’ve known and loved. But I almost wish I did today. They’d be together, just as they were. Laughing, joking, arguing, bickering. The last ones on the dance floor. All the things they used to be.
When a life’s over we tread the embers for a while, pained that a part of our own’s suddenly missing too. But in the end the embers die and we feast on what’s left, the fond memories of the times we had. Ours to keep forever. An ever after glow.
It’s not for now. But soon we’ll raise our glasses and think only of how lucky we were that our paths crossed and were shared for a while.
Here’s to two lives well-lived. Part of mine forever.
A song for Jo, one of her favourites, sung and recorded for her by Josie. She listened to it just a few days ago.
Our dancing queens ❤️
So very well expressed. Absolutely right to celebrate the times you shared with those we lose. Thinking of you and Josie and sending love xxx

So sorry to hear about Pippa’s mum. She looks like she enjoyed having fun and. Lovely picture of her and Pippa. But of course she lives on in your memories
Yep – a treasure trove of fond memories

Really sorry to hear that, Andy and Josie 💜 Thinking of you xx
Thanks Angie. A sad day but it, and the many days before as her life ebbed away, were a small part of something much bigger and more joyous. Hey ho x
Beautiful singing Josie and lovely photos of Pip and Jo.❤️xx
Beautiful song.. Sung so sadly. Lovely tribute Andy.
